Start with flat terrain
Chula Vista is a particularly practical walking choice: its full-length municipal layout is extremely flat, while water and a longer hole mix keep it from feeling like a short course. Bonita is another flat, tree-lined full-length option with a notably walkable profile.
For a shorter walk, The Loma Club and Colina Park keep the round compact and concentrate the experience on short-game golf.
Executive golf for walkers
Oaks North is designed as an accessible executive facility and is widely suited to a walking round, though its three nine-hole layouts still require choosing the combination that fits your day. Admiral Baker South is flatter and more approachable than the North course, making it the more natural walking choice at that facility.
Walking permission and cart policy can change with weather or maintenance, so confirm the current rules with the course before arrival.
Plan for the day, not just the map
Even a flat course can become demanding in heat, a slow round, or a long walk from parking to the first tee. Carry water, choose a realistic tee time, and use a push cart if the course permits one.
