Choosing this course

Short on the card, demanding in the terrain

Balboa's championship routing uses canyon edges, elevation and compact targets to create more challenge than the scorecard length suggests. The quirky William Bell layout and city views make it feel unlike a typical municipal course.

Walking the course

Walkable, but not an easy walk

Walking is common at Balboa, but the championship course is hilly, with repeated canyon transitions and a demanding climb to the 18th green. Expect a much more strenuous walk than the scorecard length suggests.
