Conditions are a major part of the appeal

All 18 holes are currently being played on newly renovated greens. Community signal is Fast, but exact turf variety, firmness, Stimpmeter speed and direct post-renovation detail remain verification-sensitive. Water-saving bermudagrass is strongly documented historically; native areas and 100+ strategic bunkers define the course. Fresh post-renovation bunker condition and exact current turf mix remain gated.

Barona is not general-public golf. The original 18 holes are back and all 18 use newly renovated greens. Reservations are phone-only at 619-387-7018, with no public tee sheet. Dress code applies to golf/practice… Restored original 18-hole championship course; full original routing is back in play on newly renovated greens. Preserve the prior drought-reduced / doubled-nine configuration as historical only.

This is built as a destination-style round

Gently rolling Barona Valley routing laid lightly through native oaks, dry creeks, rock outcroppings and native areas, with generous-looking corridors, strategic angles and 100+ bunkers. Hard / championship-level from the back tees; width provides choices rather than simplicity. Tournament rating is 75.4 / 143.
