Know the booking window before you plan the round

Strong current partner evidence supports roughly 7 days, but the static official booking page does not publish a universal ordinary-public window; exact normal horizon remains gated. Singles are clearly accepted; whether a single can originate every completely empty TeeItUp slot remains unverified.

Green architecture is a major strength, but current condition is variable. 18Birdies rates green speed Medium; fresh Aug. 2026 reports were sharply negative. Fairway architecture is strategically strong, while 2026 turf coverage is below-average/variable. Bunkers are defining Dye features but current maintenance is a concern.

Choose Carlton Oaks for the Perry Dye architecture, not pristine 2026 turf. Public pricing is dynamic. A third-party Greenskeeper alert lists Sept. 8–9 aeration but course confirmation is still required. What the course is like

The challenge comes from more than just yardage

Relatively flat San Diego River-valley parkland with creek/lakes, mature trees, water, pot bunkers, railroad ties, mounding and peninsula targets. Very hard from Tournament/Black; hard from Blue. Current USGA Tournament is 75.9/143 and Black is 75.0/140.

A good course to walk

Moderate-good. Terrain is relatively flat, but 6,700+ yard middle/back tee options make the total walk long. Walking is allowed. Carts are optional; course currently quotes $15 if riding together and $25 individual. Drivers must be 18+ with a valid license and sign the rental form.
