How the Junior Golf Ticket works
The program is for City of San Diego residents age 17 and under. A junior must maintain both a Junior Resident ID Card and an active monthly or annual Junior Ticket.
Junior Ticket privileges cover play during eligible times. The required credentials, booking limits, and course-specific restrictions still apply. Last verified: August 24, 2026.
Junior ID and ticket costs
Junior Tickets are currently purchased in person at City golf courses. Keep the separate Junior Resident ID Card active for the same period in which ticket privileges will be used.
| Required item | Cost | Valid for | Current purchase method |
|---|---|---|---|
| Junior Resident ID Card | $25 | 365 days | In person at City golf courses |
| Monthly Junior Ticket | $10.50 | 30 days | In person at City golf courses |
| Annual Junior Ticket | $75 | 365 days | In person at City golf courses |
Booking, standby, and adult reservations
Online Junior Ticket booking is limited to one day in advance. The booking opportunity opens at 7:00 p.m. the day before play; it is not the standard multi-day resident advance window.
The City's same-day, on-property virtual waitlist may fill cancellations or no-shows, but standby is not guaranteed. Joining a waitlist does not waive the Junior Ticket's credential, course, day, or time restrictions.
A junior may be included on an adult's reservation, but the adult reservation does not replace the junior's required ID and active ticket or override the eligible playing times below. Confirm any course-specific check-in treatment with the City course.
Where and when the Junior Ticket can be used
The same Torrey Pines rule applies to both the North and South courses. Mission Bay's holiday treatment is intentionally shown as unresolved because current City sources disagree.
| Course | Eligible days | Eligible time | Weekend and holiday treatment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mission Bay | 7 days/week | Anytime | Holiday rule unresolved — current City sources conflict; verify before relying on holiday access |
| Balboa Park 9 | 7 days/week | Anytime | Current Citywide guidance excludes holidays |
| Balboa Park 18 | Mon–Fri | Beginning at Twilight | No weekends or holidays |
| Torrey Pines North and South | Mon–Thu | Beginning at Twilight | No weekends or holidays |
Mission Bay holiday eligibility is unresolved
Current City sources conflict. The Citywide Junior Ticket guidance and its April guide say Junior Ticket play is not available on holidays. The newer Mission Bay rate sheet effective July 1, 2026 says the ticket is valid seven days a week, including holidays.
This guide does not choose between those official statements. Verify the current holiday rule with the City before relying on Junior Ticket access at Mission Bay on a holiday.
