Dos Osos is the JC Golf-operated course formerly known as Eagle Crest, set among the vineyards and hills of the San Pasqual Valley. David Rainville designed the routing, and the facility provides practice space, instruction, a golf shop, and food-and-beverage service.

How Dos Osos Golf Club plays

Even condition-critical reviews tend to praise the Rainville routing. Water, doglegs, elevation and shot-positioning create more strategic interest than the price point might imply. Water, doglegs, tighter corridors and forced carries reward conservative positioning. The course is not brutally long, but loose shots can accumulate penalties quickly. The renovation addressed bunker shape, drainage and sand, but current golfer feedback still identifies bunkers as one of the weakest and least consistent surfaces.

January feedback was poor, while June described the greens as pretty good but slow, July called them great, and August found them acceptable. Current broad expectation is playable and improving rather than premium-fast. San Pasqual Valley hills, water features, restored waterfall and quieter inland setting are recurring positives in both official positioning and golfer commentary. Carts are optional and walking is allowed. Standard public rates include cart; no separate standard public walking discount is published.
